Direct Services

All services geared specifically towards women 16 years of age and older who have been victims of sexual abuse in one form or another and are currently residents a county in our jurisdiction.

Active Listening & Support

We offer support through individual or group counselling in hopes of preventing isolation, providing the women with the opportunity to share their experiences and to build a network that will allow them to successfully continue on the path towards healing.

Referrals

This service allows us to refer our clients to community organizations/agencies that offer services that respond to their needs.

Accompaniment and Advocacy

Upon request, counsellors or volunteers may accompany a women to receive assistance and services. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Hospital
  • Court
  • Abortion clinic
  • Immigration services
  • Shelters
  • Police station
  • Psychiatric services
  • AIDS clinic
  • Settlement programs
  • Etc.

We also advocate on behalf of our clients regarding various medical, legal and social issues. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Filling out paperwork for the woman
  • Making phone calls on behalf of the woman
  • Referrals to different agencies/organizations

Practical Assistance

We provide assistance to women who have certain needs which may be barriers to them accessing our services. This may include but is not limited to transportation (bus tickets, taxi, mileage), food vouchers, child care costs, etc.

The Centre will pay the travel costs for a woman who resides outside of London to either attend the office (by bus, train or car) or to have a counsellor meet with them in their home county.
